The REAL Story

REAL (Real-life Experience in Academic Learning) is a career/education consulting firm located in St. Paul, Minnesota, home to some of the finest colleges and universities in North America. Its founder, Richard S. Grossman, brings more than 20 years of experience and expertise as a marketer, communicator, educator and entrepreneur to the REAL mission. He created REAL as a vehicle to help bridge the gap between the classroom and the boardroom for both traditional college students seeking fulfilling careers in Digital Media, Arts & Entertainment, Sports and Marketing as well as non-traditional students and professionals in search of more meaningful and purpose-driven careers and lifestyles.

As the name implies, REAL is all about infusing real-world experience and perspective into existing learning environments. Think of it as creating a paradigm shift by turning the classroom outside in.

What makes the REAL approach so distinctive and engaging is the model for its customized programs. REAL seminars and workshops feature a curriculum that draws from the Three Principles for Human Development (mind-consciousness-thought) developed by Sydney Banks. Participants are inspired to greater levels of awareness of themselves and the world around them as they discover their personal path to realization of work/life balance.

Program offerings include 75-120 minute-length seminars, half-day workshops, full-day "boot camps", multi-day workshops and semester-length courses.
